Nathan Lew {Brentwood, MO}

April 9th, 2010

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to do this session at Tillies Park in Ladue, MO.  I had never been to this park but I was amazed at all the stone work that was used in the park – stone walls, entrance ways to the the park, the restroom facility and of course landscaping.  They also had a great playground with incredibly bright colors and things for all ages to play on.  This was a great place for this session.  Great idea Tiffany and Nathan! I would have to say little Nathan is not so little anymore.  This little nine month old is turning into a little boy right before us.  Nathan is crawling and when propped against something can stand up for a while.  I even have one shot from the session where it looks like Nathan is waving to everyone in his suit.  Watch out capital hill this little guy could be coming for your job.  This was such a great session and I am so pleased with the results.  Here’s a sneak peak from the session.

Baby Lucas made his world debut on February 8th.  This little guy weighed in at 7lbs 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.  Lucas’ mommy had all kinds of fun outfits and hats to put him for this shoot.  He was a trooper and very easy going during the session.  Lucas has one of the best boy room’s I have ever photographed.  I wish I had a room as cool as Lucas’.  Heather and Chris put a lot of thought in it.   It was so bright and fun!   Lucas keeping growing buddy and thanks for being a great sport!  Chris and Heather thanks for letting me capture this special moment in your family’s life.  Enjoy your sneak peak!

Have you all heard of “Matilda the Gorilla“?  Well apparently it is a little silly song to sing to your kids.  It is also one of  Gabrielle’s favorite songs.  If fact, Gabrielle turned the mommy & daddy ipod (their voices) on to Matilda the Gorilla and pushed repeat.  Every time Jared or Danielle would get to the chorus, the part about Matilda singing, Gabrielle would go crazy and start bouncing.  Thanks to some creative singing I was able to capture some great expressions during Gabrielle’s six month session.  Plus I will be singing the song all day now.  Who knows I might even post the lyrics to the song.  But for now I’ll give you a sneak peak of the session.  Thanks Jared and Danielle for a great session!  Enjoy!

Alexis Michelle {Bethalto, IL}

March 1st, 2010

A week ago I took Alexis’9 month photos.  When I walked into baby Alexis’ home the other evening I could not believe how quick she was crawling around the house.  She could even take a few steps behind her walking.   Alexis has such a great nature and temper.   She also is very photogenic and knows how to interacted with the camera.  However because she is so aware of her surrounds she found a neat new toy with one of my props, the green apple.  I have so many photos of her with her new teething toy.  The sad part is that the green apple covers her beautiful little smile.  If you look real close in the first photo you will see she is starting to get teeth.  Watch out mom and dad biting will soon follow.  This age is one of my favorite development mile stones in the first year.  It is so fun to watch them really begin to discover the world around them as they crawl and walk from destination to destination in the house.  Renea and Justin enjoy this stage just as much as the others because before you know it she will be forming sentences and reading books.  Here’s a sneak peak of this session.

Baby Elise {Boston, MA}

February 19th, 2010

A couple of weeks ago I was able to travel to Boston…. well not really!  Boston came to St. Louis.  Elise’s mother Carrie just recently came back to the St. Louis area to be with family and I had the opportunity to photography this precious little one.   Last fall I took Elise’s older cousin Amia’s family photos.  So it was very neat to photograph another side part of the family and to do a joint cousin session as well.  Some of the last photos from this session were taken with both Amia and Elise.  Photographing a two month old and 14 month old was a challenge but we got the job done.  Thanks Corby and Carrie!  Carrie thank you so much for choosing me to capture these moment of time for you.  Grandma Pam thank you for letting me use your home as a studio again!  Here is a sneak peak of this session.  Enjoy!blog1blog2blog3blog4blog5

Ada Jane {Bethalto, IL}

February 12th, 2010

At the beginning of the month I had chance to photograph sweet baby Ada.  Ada was born on January 13 weighing 8 lbs 9oz and measuring 19.5 inches long.  She is absolutely beautiful!   This was a fun shoot for me because Ada’s parents, A.D. and Amanda, are some of Sarah Jane and I’s closest friends.  We go to church together and have shared lots of life together as well.  So this shoot was a celebration of family and life for me more than a newborn session.  A.D. and Amanda congrats again on your new baby girl and I hope you enjoy this sneak peak!

Little Gabrielle turned 3 months right before Christmas and I was able to capture some very festive photos that can only happen around Christmas time.  As I finish editing my eyes are drawn to picture number four of this post.  I love the simplicity of the baby under the tree with a big red bow.  What a simple shot but so beautiful.  Jared and Danielle you have a beautiful baby girl.  I can’t believe that a baby as small as Gabrielle changed the world for eternity.  That baby’s name was Jesus.  Jesus’ birth is why I celebrate Christmas because without Christ my life would be meaningless.  Thank you Jesus for coming into the world to save the us from our sin!

Christmas has come and gone but I bet the memories of little 6 month Nathan will last a lifetime.  This session was a blast for multiple reason.  Reason one, the Christmas tree was up and all the decorations.  The house was absolutely beautiful. Great job Tiffany!  Reason two, all the session was centered around Christmas.  The backdrops, outfits, and props.  I love Christmas!  Reason three, I had an extra set of hands on this shoot.  My two year old daughter Ella tagged along with SJ and I to this photo shoot.  She did a great job sharing daddy with baby Nathan.  It was also fun to watch her interact with Nathan.  Tiffany and Kevan thanks for great shoot and I hope you enjoy this long anticipated sneak preview!  See you in a couple of months.

Alexis Michelle {Bethalto, IL}

November 26th, 2009

Little Alexis continues to grow and develop.  This sixth month session almost didn’t happen because Alexis was upset but when  her daddy came home from work and played with her she was ready for “show time”.  This little girl is a natural in front of the camera.  The fourth photo in this post was not posed.  She struck the the pose.  Justin and Renea you might have a diva on your hands!  This visit was fun to not only see how Alexis has grown but to see her mommy and daddy’s new home.  A lot has changed for the better since our last session.  Thanks for helping me create some beautiful photos for your daughter!  Enjoy!

Gates Family {Godfrey, IL}

November 3rd, 2009

This family session turned out amazing!  Believe it or not this session was shot in grandma’s back yard.  Corby ask me to come to her mom’s house to shoot Amia’s 1 year photos and some family portraits as well.  I didn’t think we where going to get the session in but the rain held back and Pam (grandma) was a my umbrella holder when we had sprinkles.  Over all we had a ton of fun creating backdrops and using the yard to create beautiful photos.  Toby and Corby thank you for allowing me to capture this special moment in your life!  Pam thanks for being my assistant and happy birthday Amia!  I hope you all enjoy your sneak peak.
