A week ago I took Alexis’9 month photos. When I walked into baby Alexis’ home the other evening I could not believe how quick she was crawling around the house. She could even take a few steps behind her walking. Alexis has such a great nature and temper. She also is very photogenic and knows how to interacted with the camera. However because she is so aware of her surrounds she found a neat new toy with one of my props, the green apple. I have so many photos of her with her new teething toy. The sad part is that the green apple covers her beautiful little smile. If you look real close in the first photo you will see she is starting to get teeth. Watch out mom and dad biting will soon follow. This age is one of my favorite development mile stones in the first year. It is so fun to watch them really begin to discover the world around them as they crawl and walk from destination to destination in the house. Renea and Justin enjoy this stage just as much as the others because before you know it she will be forming sentences and reading books. Here’s a sneak peak of this session.

A couple of weeks ago I was able to travel to Boston…. well not really! Boston came to St. Louis. Elise’s mother Carrie just recently came back to the St. Louis area to be with family and I had the opportunity to photography this precious little one. Last fall I took Elise’s older cousin Amia’s family photos. So it was very neat to photograph another side part of the family and to do a joint cousin session as well. Some of the last photos from this session were taken with both Amia and Elise. Photographing a two month old and 14 month old was a challenge but we got the job done. Thanks Corby and Carrie! Carrie thank you so much for choosing me to capture these moment of time for you. Grandma Pam thank you for letting me use your home as a studio again! Here is a sneak peak of this session. Enjoy!

At the beginning of the month I had chance to photograph sweet baby Ada. Ada was born on January 13 weighing 8 lbs 9oz and measuring 19.5 inches long. She is absolutely beautiful! This was a fun shoot for me because Ada’s parents, A.D. and Amanda, are some of Sarah Jane and I’s closest friends. We go to church together and have shared lots of life together as well. So this shoot was a celebration of family and life for me more than a newborn session. A.D. and Amanda congrats again on your new baby girl and I hope you enjoy this sneak peak!

Little Gabrielle turned 3 months right before Christmas and I was able to capture some very festive photos that can only happen around Christmas time. As I finish editing my eyes are drawn to picture number four of this post. I love the simplicity of the baby under the tree with a big red bow. What a simple shot but so beautiful. Jared and Danielle you have a beautiful baby girl. I can’t believe that a baby as small as Gabrielle changed the world for eternity. That baby’s name was Jesus. Jesus’ birth is why I celebrate Christmas because without Christ my life would be meaningless. Thank you Jesus for coming into the world to save the us from our sin!

Christmas has come and gone but I bet the memories of little 6 month Nathan will last a lifetime. This session was a blast for multiple reason. Reason one, the Christmas tree was up and all the decorations. The house was absolutely beautiful. Great job Tiffany! Reason two, all the session was centered around Christmas. The backdrops, outfits, and props. I love Christmas! Reason three, I had an extra set of hands on this shoot. My two year old daughter Ella tagged along with SJ and I to this photo shoot. She did a great job sharing daddy with baby Nathan. It was also fun to watch her interact with Nathan. Tiffany and Kevan thanks for great shoot and I hope you enjoy this long anticipated sneak preview! See you in a couple of months.

Little Alexis continues to grow and develop. This sixth month session almost didn’t happen because Alexis was upset but when her daddy came home from work and played with her she was ready for “show time”. This little girl is a natural in front of the camera. The fourth photo in this post was not posed. She struck the the pose. Justin and Renea you might have a diva on your hands! This visit was fun to not only see how Alexis has grown but to see her mommy and daddy’s new home. A lot has changed for the better since our last session. Thanks for helping me create some beautiful photos for your daughter! Enjoy!

This family session turned out amazing! Believe it or not this session was shot in grandma’s back yard. Corby ask me to come to her mom’s house to shoot Amia’s 1 year photos and some family portraits as well. I didn’t think we where going to get the session in but the rain held back and Pam (grandma) was a my umbrella holder when we had sprinkles. Over all we had a ton of fun creating backdrops and using the yard to create beautiful photos. Toby and Corby thank you for allowing me to capture this special moment in your life! Pam thanks for being my assistant and happy birthday Amia! I hope you all enjoy your sneak peak.

Every baby session I do is so neat because every family is different and I get a chance to spend a year building relationships with a family. Well a week ago today, I meet little Gabrielle for the first time. I have known Gabrielle’s dad, Jared, since high school and this session allowed us to get caught up on each other lives. Little Gabrielle was born on Labor Day, September 7th, and entered the world weighing 8lbs and measuring 20 inches long. She was such a beautiful little model and a good sport. In those fussy times of the shoot Gabrielle amazingly respond to her daddy’s “funny” noise. I wish there where words to describe the noise but they just don’t exist, however the “funny” noise was a life saver the shot below of Jared holding Gabrielle (picture #3). Danielle and Jared thank you for using me to shoot your baby girl’s newborn photos and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and your little girl better this year! Enjoy your sneak peak!

Monday was an incredible day for me. I was hired to photograph the birth of Josh and Chrissy’s son. This day was so special to be apart of and to witness a miracle happen. Little Ethan enter the world weighing 7lbs and 1oz and measuring 19 inches long. As I watched Josh and Chrissy experience every moment of the day I to was flooded with emotion from my own daughters birth, two years ago. My goal for the day was not to just give the Dutton family great images but to capture the day so they can live all the emotions and memories of the day over and over again. The images below tell the story of the day and there are so many other great images that will be precious images in the years to come. Josh and Chrissy thank for letting me be apart of you family and help you capture one of life’s special moments! Enjoy the sneak peak and congratulations!

WOW! Nathan is three months and before you know the little guy is going to be sitting under a Christmas tree turning 6 months old. One of the neatest things about photographing babies is watching them grow and develop. Nathan has done just that. When he was born he was tall and skinny… well not any more!
We had a lot of fun with session and did some fall football shots. Since different parts of the family are fans of rival teams I think I will post both the Penn State and Ohio State pictures in the same posting. Which ever onesie is posted first is my favorite between the two (Don’t hold that against me). Tiffany and Kevan thank you for hospitality at your home and I can’t wait to shoot Nathan’s six month photos. Enjoy the sneak peak of his session!
