Brian Owens – Live @ the Old Rock House {St. Louis, MO}

March 8th, 2012

Tuesday night I had an amazing opportunity to go support a up and coming musician from the St. Louis area.  Brian Owens was doing a preview concert at the Old Rock House in St. Louis, MO to give St. Louis the first listen to his first nationally released album, Moods and Messages, available  June 2012.

Brian Owens is fast becoming the new voice of American Soul.   Along with television appearances on Entertainment Tonight, Fox and Friends, & the opening game of the 2011 World Series, Brian Owens’ voice is making an international imprint on the ears of a diverse audience. Homegrown in St. Louis, MO, his music reflects a city infused with blues, soul, and folk- resulting in a style that is distinctly his own, yet reminiscent of artists like Sam Cooke, Bill Withers, & Marvin Gaye.

His experience as a Staff Sergeant in Afghanistan, in addition to his duties as a husband, father, and leader in his church, continue to shape his music into messages that are encouraging, thought-provoking, and most of all, honest. Balancing social awareness with simple lyrics and raw emotion, Owens proves that good music never loses its relevance. Says Owens, “I hope my music doesn’t just entertain, but speaks to that part of us that is most vulnerable, the least prejudiced, and the most open.”

After receiving acclaim in 2011 as the front man for the military band, Sidewinder, Owens signed a record deal with Destined 2B1 Records.  For more information, visit www.BrianOwens.tv.

David Crowder Band – The 7 Tour

September 10th, 2011

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way:

He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

These lyrics gripped my heart the first time I heard them.  It made me think about my relationship with Christ in a different light.  The truth about us as humans is we are sinful and eternally separated from God.  But the story doesn’t end there… God was patient with us. He gave us a chance to claim His son’s (Jesus’) death on the cross and repent (turn away from) of our sins (Romans 5:8, Romans 2:4).  That happened for me 17 years when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior.  He cleansed of my sin (wrong doings) and made me right with God (1 John 1:9).  Thank you Jesus for your patience with my sinful heart!  Thank you for providing me with a way to have eternal life (John 3:16).   I am also thankful that God has used the David Crowder Band over the past 11 years to remind me of His great truths!  Fair well DCB and Godspeed!

Seven Glory {Maryville, IL}

February 1st, 2010

Saturday night I had the opportunity to shoot Seven Glory for fun!  This band was the worship band for Discipleship Now Weekend at First Baptist Church of Maryville, IL.  These guys are the real deal when it comes to Christian bands.  They don’t just say one thing from stage and do another when off the stage.  They live the message they share with their audience.  If you ever get a chance to hear these guys in concert it is well worth the ticket price!  These are some of my favorite photos from this concert.
