Danielle {Jerseyville, IL}

May 15th, 2010

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to shoot Danielle’s senior photos.  Danielle is a home school student from Jerseyville, IL.  She is a farm girl with a lot of personality.  This was such a fun session for all of us.  Danielle brought a cheering section/stylist with her (mom and her sister-in-law).  We experience everything from people being freaked out because we used their backyard for photos to a cyclist being angry because we where on the bike path.  Doing on location shoots are always an adventure.  Danielle, thanks for a fun day and hiring me for your senior photos!  Grafton, IL was a great pick for a backdrop.  Enjoy your sneak peak!

Kimberly – Roxana High School

November 8th, 2009

Kimberly was the first session that I shot last Saturday.  We headed up to historic Grafton, Illinois to catch the fall leaves and unique architecture for her senior photos.  This morning started off chilly but slowly warmed up and turned out to be an amazing day.   Kim had some great ideas for shots and lead us to the the spot on route three were we took photos 1 & 2 .  Kim you’re a trooper… she went barefoot in the water fall coming off the bluffs and braved the wind coming off the Mississippi River and the temperature of the water couldn’t be any warmer than 40 degrees.  Brr!   Kim thanks for being such a great sport and model.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peak!

Travis – Roxana High School

November 8th, 2009

Last Saturday turned about to be a beautiful day especially after all the rain we had over the past month.  It was also a very busy day for me shooting two senior sessions.  Travis’ session was the second of the day and we had a lot of fun walking around downtown Alton to find some cool shots.

Travis plans to study sports broadcasting at LCCC after graduation.  All the sports fans out there be listening for his voice in the near future and if you have any pointers for radio leave them here on he blog for Travis to pick up and apply in his schooling.  Travis thanks for a fun day and some really neat urban shots!

Hillary – Civic Memorial High School (Part 2)

October 31st, 2009

Two Sundays ago we where able to finish up Hillary’s senior photos.  It is so hard for me to believe she is a senior.  I remember watching her in the church nursery when I was teenager and now she watches my daughter from time to time.  Wow… the table have turned.   On a different note I don’t have any interesting farm stories for this post but we did have a blast enjoying one of the few sunny days in October.  We shot the remaining shots at Gordon Moore Park in Alton, IL.  Good weather and good laughs make a fun session.  Thanks Hillary for choosing me to do your photos and congratulations on your senior year!  Enjoy sneak peak number two…

Hillary – Civic Memorial High School (Part 1)

October 3rd, 2009

Over the past several years, Hillary has been learning to ride and take care of horses so it was only fitting that some of her senior photos be shot with a horse.  Last weekend, I drove out to the Triangle H Farm just south of town to start this senior session.  I had no clue how what I was getting myself into.  While at the ranch I watch a horse kick out of a trailer, chickens chase each other, and stepped over all kinds of biological waste just to get things started.  I was little concerned how we where going to manage a several thousand pound animal and get great shots.  Well  Hillary’s training paid off.  She  did an amazing job not only being a model but keeping the horse under control and calm.  Thanks for setting up the shoot with the stable.  Great Idea!  I’m looking forward finishing the rest of this session later this month but for now enjoy the sneak peak.blog4blog1blog2blog3

Jeff – Civic Memorial High School

December 7th, 2008

On Friday afternoon Jeff and I took off to Alton to take the first session of Jeff’s senior portraits. Jeff is one of the seniors in my youth group at church and I have known him since he was a little guy. Its hard to believe that he is graduating high school this year.

This part of the session was to make sure grandma and grandpa had some great pictures for Christmas. Well, they do have some great pictures because Jeff braved the freezing cold weather. Can you tell the temperature was about twenty eight degrees? Great job acting warm Jeff! Here is a sneak peak of your first session. I can’t wait to shoot the rest of the session this spring. I hope you enjoy!

Wes – Westminster Christian Academy

October 17th, 2008

Last night I had the opportunity to shoot Wes’ senior portraits. I really enjoyed getting to know Wes better last night. Wes is a writer and has a very creative mind, the inspiration for the library shoot. Wes allowed me to indulge in my creativity and try a new location down by the river front in Alton. That is where some of my favorite shots from this session came from. Thanks, Wes, for letting me do your photos! Here’s a sneak peak:
