Mr. & Mrs. Karaseh {Decatur, IL}

July 14th, 2010

Over the 4th of July weekend I headed to Decatur, IL to second shoot for Across The Mile Photography.  Joe and Sarah got married in such a beautiful church.  This was a special day all around… it was Sarah’s parent’s wedding anniversary, Joe’s birthday and their wedding day all wrapped up in one great day.  Before the wedding I took all the guys to some alleys in downtown Decatur to get some very unique urban shoots.  After the wedding we did some more on location wedding shoots and ending the night at a very fun reception.  Here’s a sneak peak of their day…

If you would like to see more photos of the day check out Kellie’s blog – click here.  Joe and Sarah thank for allowing Kellie and I to be apart of you day!

A couple Saturdays ago, I had the opportunity to kick off the wedding season and work with Kellie Penn of Across The Mile Photography.  Brandon and Denise made the first wedding a blast!  This couple is such a great couple and takes marriage very seriously.  The honored the couple at their reception that had been married the longest.  Forty three years was the winner.  Brandon and Denise thank you for reminding us how important marriage is and how serious we should take our marriages!

Denise and Brandon thanks for allowing Kellie and I to be apart of you special day!  Congratulations!

Wedding Magazine

March 20th, 2010

This past winter I received a package in the mail from Kellie Penn of Across the Miles Photography.  I had no clue what was in the package, but if Kellie was sending me something to do with photography then it most be good.   Well it was a great surprise to see inside and see the 2009 Winter edition of Limited Weddings, a Decatur, IL bridal magazine.   There was a sticky note that said, “look at the back”.  So I turned the magazine over and what did my eyes see… our work.  Several our photos where featured in an advertisement for The Beach House.  The Beach House is my favorite reception site in the Decatur.  It over looks the beautiful lake Decatur and has amazing food as well!   Here is a look at the magazine.

Kellie and I will be teaming up to shoot 6-7 weddings this year.  It is so much fun to watch others get married and to be apart of their incredibly special day.  Be looking for wedding photos on the blog starting in June!

Two weeks ago marked the end of the wedding season for Kelli Penn, Across the Miles Photography, and I.   We had the opportunity to shoot Andy and Bailey’s wedding in Effingham, IL.  This was the perfect day for a wedding the fall weather could not have been any nicer.  There was a lite breeze and plenty of sun and autumn colors on the trees.  Bailey did a great job planning the details of this wedding and the reception was a lot fun.  Here is a glimpse of the day…

Two Saturdays ago I shoot Andrea and Chris’ wedding with Kelli Penn.  This wedding was one of the most simplistic but beautiful weddings we have shot.  For starters the wedding colors where absolutely beautiful and throw great color into the mix with a very old church you get elegant.   The church, College Avenue Presbyterian Church, is 172 years old and a church that I have admired since I was a boy.  I have always wanted to shoot at this church because of the unique architecture features of this building.  Take a look at the beauty of the day and enjoy!

Mr. & Mrs. Simpson {Decatur, IL}

September 25th, 2009

Two weeks ago I teamed up with Across the Mile Photography to shoot the Simpson wedding in Decatur.  This wedding had a traditional wedding flair with a big party afterward.  The reception was held at the Beach House on lake Decatur.  This reception site is my favorite sites in Decatur.  Amber and Josh had some great appetizers and dessert at their reception.  The wedding cake was probably the prettiest cake I have ever photographed.  The candy table was a sweet extra touch to the celebration.

Amber and Josh thank you for allowing Kellie and I to be apart of your special day!  Here’s a snapshot of the day.

Two weekends ago I had the opportunity to shoot with  Kellie Penn (Across the Miles Photography), Blake & Rachelle’s wedding.  It was a beautiful summer day, actually not a very usual July summer day.  They were blessed to have a cool and sunny day with a touch of cloud cover, aka – great photography conditions.   Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church is one of the most unique churches I have ever been in.  The colors, layout, and design of the building were very cool and yet functional.  It reminded me of Willow Creek Church in Chicago, IL.   Enough about the place, what about the couple… The couple chose to see each before the service.  That is always a special moment for the couple and I have to say it’s pretty amazing to witness as a photographer.  Blake and Rachelle exchanged gifts before the wedding and Blake, you’re the man.  Blake gave Rachelle some incredible rings and a necklace to complement her ring, however he didn’t stop there! Blake also purchased a beautiful tennis bracelet for Rachelle.  Kudos my friend.  I thought the service was so personal and not a “message in a can” service because Rachelle’s brother married them and did a great job officiating the service.   This was one special wedding!  Thanks guys for allowing Kellie and I help you capture your special day!  Here is a sneak peek of the day:

Two weeks ago the summer wedding season started back up.  I had the opportunity to shot again with Kellie Penn, (Across the Miles Photography).  David and Kristy’s wedding was a small country wedding.  Kristy had picked beautiful browns and blue for the wedding colors and planned every other detail of the wedding with great taste.   I was so impressed at the reception site.  Kristy’s mom and dad through a big party under tents at their own home by a beautiful pond filled with floating tee lights.  This was a beautiful wedding all around!

Thank you David and Kristy for letting Kellie and I be apart of your special day!  Here are some of the shots that I captured from the day.

Studio Wedding Album

May 19th, 2009

Over the course of the winter I have been building my resources and one of the resources is an album manufacturer from Bend, Oregon called AsukaBook. AsukaBook was one of the first companies to offer professional quality coffee table style printed books for photographers. They offer a superior product with a polished look and feel that is very popular with photographer’s clients. I personally wish I would have known about AsukaBook when I got married five years ago. Tonight’s post will be sharing the the design layout for the studio wedding album. When I receive the album I will post the pictures of the actual product.  The follow layouts are  from my first studio wedding album.  Enjoy the layouts and hopefully you will be able to enjoy one of these beautiful albums  on your own coffee table.

Last Saturday Kellie and I shot a wedding in Decatur, IL. Rob and Michelle’s wedding was very beautiful and well thought out in all the details. The couple left the wedding and everyone sent them off with sparklers. One of the other neat details of this wedding was that the bride and groom invited up on stage every person in attendance for a group photo. If you where invited to this wedding and decided not to come for some reason, well this bride and groom will have record that you skipped out.

Rob and Michelle thank you so much for allowing Kellie and I to be apart of your day! Here are some photos from the day.
