Wedding Magazine

March 20th, 2010

This past winter I received a package in the mail from Kellie Penn of Across the Miles Photography.  I had no clue what was in the package, but if Kellie was sending me something to do with photography then it most be good.   Well it was a great surprise to see inside and see the 2009 Winter edition of Limited Weddings, a Decatur, IL bridal magazine.   There was a sticky note that said, “look at the back”.  So I turned the magazine over and what did my eyes see… our work.  Several our photos where featured in an advertisement for The Beach House.  The Beach House is my favorite reception site in the Decatur.  It over looks the beautiful lake Decatur and has amazing food as well!   Here is a look at the magazine.

Kellie and I will be teaming up to shoot 6-7 weddings this year.  It is so much fun to watch others get married and to be apart of their incredibly special day.  Be looking for wedding photos on the blog starting in June!

Lincoln Day Dinner

March 6th, 2010

Tonight I had the opportunity to photograph for the Madison County Republican’s Lincoln Day Dinner.  This event was a chance to meet the 2010 Republican candidates and hear their stance on many of the issues facing America and the state of Illinois today.  To help you learn more about each candidate, I’ve put a link to each candidate’s website in the tag line below their individual photo.  Please get out and vote this year.  Be responsible with the voice you have been given in this country!

Alexis Michelle {Bethalto, IL}

March 1st, 2010

A week ago I took Alexis’9 month photos.  When I walked into baby Alexis’ home the other evening I could not believe how quick she was crawling around the house.  She could even take a few steps behind her walking.   Alexis has such a great nature and temper.   She also is very photogenic and knows how to interacted with the camera.  However because she is so aware of her surrounds she found a neat new toy with one of my props, the green apple.  I have so many photos of her with her new teething toy.  The sad part is that the green apple covers her beautiful little smile.  If you look real close in the first photo you will see she is starting to get teeth.  Watch out mom and dad biting will soon follow.  This age is one of my favorite development mile stones in the first year.  It is so fun to watch them really begin to discover the world around them as they crawl and walk from destination to destination in the house.  Renea and Justin enjoy this stage just as much as the others because before you know it she will be forming sentences and reading books.  Here’s a sneak peak of this session.

Baby Elise {Boston, MA}

February 19th, 2010

A couple of weeks ago I was able to travel to Boston…. well not really!  Boston came to St. Louis.  Elise’s mother Carrie just recently came back to the St. Louis area to be with family and I had the opportunity to photography this precious little one.   Last fall I took Elise’s older cousin Amia’s family photos.  So it was very neat to photograph another side part of the family and to do a joint cousin session as well.  Some of the last photos from this session were taken with both Amia and Elise.  Photographing a two month old and 14 month old was a challenge but we got the job done.  Thanks Corby and Carrie!  Carrie thank you so much for choosing me to capture these moment of time for you.  Grandma Pam thank you for letting me use your home as a studio again!  Here is a sneak peak of this session.  Enjoy!blog1blog2blog3blog4blog5

Ada Jane {Bethalto, IL}

February 12th, 2010

At the beginning of the month I had chance to photograph sweet baby Ada.  Ada was born on January 13 weighing 8 lbs 9oz and measuring 19.5 inches long.  She is absolutely beautiful!   This was a fun shoot for me because Ada’s parents, A.D. and Amanda, are some of Sarah Jane and I’s closest friends.  We go to church together and have shared lots of life together as well.  So this shoot was a celebration of family and life for me more than a newborn session.  A.D. and Amanda congrats again on your new baby girl and I hope you enjoy this sneak peak!

Seven Glory {Maryville, IL}

February 1st, 2010

Saturday night I had the opportunity to shoot Seven Glory for fun!  This band was the worship band for Discipleship Now Weekend at First Baptist Church of Maryville, IL.  These guys are the real deal when it comes to Christian bands.  They don’t just say one thing from stage and do another when off the stage.  They live the message they share with their audience.  If you ever get a chance to hear these guys in concert it is well worth the ticket price!  These are some of my favorite photos from this concert.

Gabrielle Lynn {Rosewood Heights, IL}

January 26th, 2010

Little Gabrielle turned 3 months right before Christmas and I was able to capture some very festive photos that can only happen around Christmas time.  As I finish editing my eyes are drawn to picture number four of this post.  I love the simplicity of the baby under the tree with a big red bow.  What a simple shot but so beautiful.  Jared and Danielle you have a beautiful baby girl.  I can’t believe that a baby as small as Gabrielle changed the world for eternity.  That baby’s name was Jesus.  Jesus’ birth is why I celebrate Christmas because without Christ my life would be meaningless.  Thank you Jesus for coming into the world to save the us from our sin!

Nathan Lew {Brentwood, MO}

January 17th, 2010

Christmas has come and gone but I bet the memories of little 6 month Nathan will last a lifetime.  This session was a blast for multiple reason.  Reason one, the Christmas tree was up and all the decorations.  The house was absolutely beautiful. Great job Tiffany!  Reason two, all the session was centered around Christmas.  The backdrops, outfits, and props.  I love Christmas!  Reason three, I had an extra set of hands on this shoot.  My two year old daughter Ella tagged along with SJ and I to this photo shoot.  She did a great job sharing daddy with baby Nathan.  It was also fun to watch her interact with Nathan.  Tiffany and Kevan thanks for great shoot and I hope you enjoy this long anticipated sneak preview!  See you in a couple of months.

Ivester Family {Godfrey, IL}

January 15th, 2010

The Ivester family did a combo session right before Thanksgiving.  They combined family portraits with their son Wyatt’s one year portraits (click here to see his 6 month session).  We used several parks here in Bethalto and even Ashley’s parent’s backyard for some shots.  I can believe how this man, Wyatt, has grown over the past several months.  It is amazing to watch him walk and start to communicate with people.  It never gets boring watching little ones grow.  Ashley and Eric thank you for choosing me for your family portraits.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peak!
